Olivia O'Brien returned to Houston last Wednesday on her US tour, "It Was a Sad F**king Tour". She headlined at the popular venue, Warehouse Live, and brought along Hey Violet and Drumaq as her opening acts. The last time Olivia was in town, she was on her 2019 spring tour, promoting her debut album, "Was It Even Real". Since then, she has released two EP's, "It Was a Sad F**king Summer" and "The Results Of My Poor Judgement". Olivia O'Brien grew up in California, and first gained a following when musician, Gnash, reached out after seeing her cover of his song, and released a song with her titled "I Hate U, I Love U". This single peaked at number 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 Chart, and boosted Olivia to her rise of fame.

It had been almost a year since Olivia last toured, so this show was highly anticipated by fans. Her last show in Houston had only 200 people in the crowd, but this time, there were over a thousand. Throughout the entire night leading up to Olivia's performance, the room was filled with excitement buzzing through the air. The moment the lights dimmed, and the backdrop screen came to life, the room erupted in screams. After playing a recording of from when she was a child, Olivia came on stage and was greeted with a thousand cheers. She opened her set with her new single, "Sad Songs In The Summer", and every person in the crowd sang all the words back at the top of their lungs. It's very apparent when watching her perform live to a room full of teenagers, that she has influenced people all over the world. Olivia speaks to these young fans through her songs, which contain messages of self love, mental health awareness, and overcoming insecurities. Seeing a crowd of people yell these lyrics back to the artist, reflects how much she has impacted each and every individual.
